Why You Should Get A Dog

Monday, March 15th, 2010

Cheer up! I have the answer to all your problems. You are lonesome. You are out of shape. You are not given the respect you deserve. Listen to my special prescription for you. Go get yourself a dog! What’s that? You think that would only make things worse? I beg to differ. Let me tell you why.

What is your problem? Can you put it into words? Does it have anything to do with feelings of social isolation? Do you think people give you your due? How is your body image? Could you use some regular exercise? Go and find yourself a mutt. People will see you out with your dog and they will want to know all about him. They will ask you for all the details. You will find yourself chatting, out in the street. That is how friendships often start.

You mentioned being out of shape, I believe. Instead of wasting your money on restrictive weight loss diets, why not eat as usual, but increase you dog walking stints? Why search for that elusive fat loss solution when your dog is sitting at your feet with his leash in his mouth? Instead of investing in expensive fitness equipment, invest in a good pair of running shoes and work up a sweat with your dog. Pound for pound, your dog is better for your health than all the diet and exercise supplies you can buy.

If you cannot get respect from your co-workers and family, your dog will put them to shame. He will never shy away from you, implying that you are a bit less than perfect. To him, you are God’s gift to the world. He would choose you for a master over all other contenders. His loyalty is guaranteed and his respect is yours without question.

Why would you not get a dog? Some landlords or family members may raise objections to dog ownership. This can be a challenge for a prospective dog owner who knows in his heart that he is going to treat dog ownership as a pleasant duty. There will be no holes dug in flower beds or scratches on doors if you are in charge. But some people just cannot be convinced until they have iron clad reassurances. There is one good way to allay the fears of anyone who tries to dissuade you from your doggy dreams.

Tell your detractors that you will train your dog to be an ideal pet and family member. Show them that you mean business and be a shining example of dog ownership. Take him to a formal class setting, run by experts, and learn the tricks of having a well behaved, polite dog.

If you decide to get a dog, soon you will feel the benefit of his love. He will attempt to support your every move. There is no chance that you will feel lonely as long as he is around.

Recipe For An Evening With Friends.

Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010

You have been put in charge of planning the annual get together between yourself and your old group of friends. After growing up together, all of you have been scattered across the country, and the globe. It is up to you and set the stage for the perfect afternoon of catching up and walking down memory lane.

Eating somehow always manages to be the central item to any gathering, no matter the purpose. If this will be during the day then you need to think about what will be good for brunch, or lunch, whichever fits the bill better. Later in the day will lead you to consider dinner. No matter what time of day it is you will have to plan for deserts or snacks.

Should you decide on holding this at a restaurant then the menu really takes care of itself. If you plan on spending several hours a restaurant may not be the most practical choice. A clubhouse would be ideal if you can find one available at the right time. Your own home would be perfect provided that you have the space to accommodate your friends. The dreadnought acoustic guitar on the wall will spark plenty of conversation.

Planning activities for your party should be easy enough. Be sure to call and find out if the ibanez acoustic electric guitar will tagging along for everyone’s listening enjoyment. These sorts of things generally include a private performance for the group.

It is worth your time to check out the selection of party games at the store. Many of these are simple and can be very enjoyable for an afternoon with friends. If you and your friends frequented the movies in your younger days a game on movie trivia would be just right.

The stroll down memory lane is inevitable for this sort of get together. Make sure that the photo albums are out and ready for use. Everyone will remember and laugh when noticing the brown boots that went everywhere and got worn all year around.

The planning pretty much takes care of itself when you a have group of people that are more like family than friends. No matter what you settle on, as long as everyone is together it will surely be a blast.
